Ashleigh Armitage
In August 2010, I joined Deloitte's Corporate Reorganisation Group as a graduate looking for a new challenge and a great start to my career.
During my time, I’ve worked on a variety of engagements which have allowed me to develop in-depth knowledge about a range of different industries and companies. Their specialities have ranged from tolls, commercial office space, electrics, motor vehicles to a pub. This has meant that each day is different and I am constantly being challenged.
The engagement I have spent the majority of my time working on is a pub in Queensland. I am fortunate to be involved in every aspect of this engagement, and to work directly with the engagement manager and partner to help solve any problems that arise. I also liaise directly with the general manager of the pub and other important staff members on a weekly basis, which is rare for a graduate.
In addition to the exciting work that I have been exposed to, Deloitte has provided me with support and training through the D.Academy training program which has covered topics such as career development, time management, business writing skills, organisation, networking and presentation skills. As I progress through the graduate program I will continue to develop these skills.
With Deloitte I have been exposed to an outstanding training program and worked with highly motivated, intelligent people who are both supportive and inspiring. There have been challenging moments, but these have been outweighed by the remarkable opportunities I have been given and the lessons I have learnt. I am confident that the experiences I have had so early will be invaluable and I look forward to seeing what my future at Deloitte holds.
