Hayden Dickson

I joined Deloitte in March 2011 as a graduate in Assurance & Advisory, looking for a great start to my professional career.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to participate in a client secondment on the internal audit of one of the largest organisations in Australia.
So far the experience has been invaluable. Coming from external audit, it has been interesting to see the difference in the perspective and scope of the work of an internal audit, as well as being able to establish relationships outside my Deloitte network.

As part of the secondment I have had the opportunity to work on various projects including a review of a new sales incentive program, and a financial services project. I would not have been exposed to either project in an external audit. I’ve learnt new skills and been able to draw on the vast knowledge and experience of the internal audit team. 

It has been great to be able to interact and work closely with senior members in different areas of the clients’ business and I have enjoyed experiencing the working culture of another organisation.
