Since joining Deloitte in March last year as a Consulting graduate in Human Capital, my eyes have been opened to a world of opportunity and exciting challenges by the variety of experiences I’ve had so far.
For example, last year I worked with a client providing people and change support for the introduction of a new project.
While the work was challenging it also introduced some amazing learning opportunities. Key highlights included:
- Operating a simulation of the new product
- Interacting with people at both the executive and front line levels
- Helping to deliver a capability development program to build change capability in middle managers.
In addition to this, I gained a true understanding of what ‘… and different’ means.
Our team took steps to transfer knowledge in a way that was new and different to our client. Instead of doing all of the change management for them, we educated and trained the leaders to become more effective leaders of change, a model that will sustain the business’ movement forward. Rather than leaving behind massive paper-based files of tools and techniques, we created an interactive system, including videos and a personal set of DVDs with over 750 activities, deliverables and experiences that leaders have at their fingertips supporting them to lead change in the future.
The great value that has been created with something that is ‘new and different’ is a true reflection of the client service excellence Deloitte provides.
It is client experiences like this that make working in Deloitte Consulting a very rewarding experience, and I look forward to what future projects hold.
