Enjoy a personal welcome
Launceston is the centre of Tasmania's north, nestled amongst mountains and hills at the head of the picturesque Tamar Valley, the State's premier wine growing region.
Big cities can easily lose a sense of community and belonging but Launceston retains these. It also remains firmly connected to the wealth of its agricultural, river valley and marine communities, boasting an exceptional climate without extremes of heat or cold. It's a place where you'll discover a distinct ambience, charm and atmosphere that sets Launceston apart from any other city.
It's the ideal base from which to discover and experience the 'essential Tasmania' - historic villages, wilderness, arts, crafts, national parks, spectacular coastlines, country markets, breathtaking scenery and the internationally-acclaimed food and wine, grown locally in the clean and unspoiled environment of the Tamar Valley.
In Launceston, and in Tasmania, you'll discover a very personal welcome and a remarkable lifestyle. With Tasmania's reputation for hospitality, genuine warmth awaits your arrival.
