Our Environment

Since 2007, our target has been to enable Deloitte China to effectively perform its operations and deliver its services with the least negative impact possible to the environment. Our environmental mission is to help Deloitte China ultimately to become carbon neutral; specific policies, processes and practices have been developed to facilitate the environmental management across our Firm.

As a growing firm, reducing carbon emission is an ongoing challenge. We constantly look at our own processes and performance, and we expect everyone who joins Deloitte China to take up the challenges and be personally accountable for minimizing their own carbon footprint. We encourage our colleagues to make their personal Green Pledge to commit to a low-carbon life-style and environment protection.

Major green programs

We encourage our people to exchange tips on protecting our precious environment via an online discussion forum named Greenspiration. We launched our annual Green Giving Day to collect used items  (like leisure and reference books, educational toys, sports equipment, stationery items, quilt and blankets, winter clothing, household and electrical appliances, or even computers in good working condition) to underprivileged families in China through different local charities. We have received an increase in items donated every year since we started the program in 2007.

Deloitte China also joins the movement to switch off non-essential office lighting during Earth Hour, the world’s largest annual public environmental awareness-raising campaign organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
