Having spent some 15 months in Audit as an Associate, I have made an internal transfer to Deloitte Consulting, now as a Consultant deliver regional projects for clients within APAC with a focus on Risk Management, Finance Transformation and Change Management.

To speak with total candor, my time so far in Deloitte has been a very rewarding experience, from both a work and life perspective. Not only does the firm provide continuous support to professional learning and development, but also bring together smart people and strive to provide us a collaborative working environment where opportunities are plentiful.

Whether you are a new Audit Associate or an experienced Consulting Manager, Deloitte has arguably the most comprehensive training programs tailored to the exact needs of each function line. On-boarding training programs for newcomers are specially prepared by our Learning professionals to simulate a real-world project experience; while classroom trainings are also provided to meet our professionals needs from time to time, including technical updates on accounting standards, regulatory changes and market / industry news, and much more. Apart from the aforementioned trainings, Deloitte also provides support to most of our professional designations.

For instance, the China Consulting New Analyst Program in Shanghai was exceptionally beneficial to my Consulting career. Not only did the coaches from U.S. equip me with a mind-set necessary for work in Consulting, but the program also gave us young professionals an invaluable chance to meet and mingle with people from different service lines and offices.

While work-life can be intimidating to most fresh graduates, it amazes me how harmonious and socially comfortable it has been to work at Deloitte. Counselors and “Buddies” are assigned to each newcomer to help them better integrate into firm – someone you can really talk to about work and life. A relatively flat organizational structure also helps to take down the communication barriers and gives us opportunities to voice out at work. In fact, some Associates have been saying that working at Deloitte is not that different from doing course projects in university – a collaborative environment where innovation meets learning.

Last but not least, and perhaps most importantly to some, it has also been FUN to work in Deloitte. The sporty you might be interested to participate in the internal soccer and basketball championships, or be a part of our Dragon Boat team and race against other corporations during Tuen Ng Festival; while the socially responsible you can join some of our meaningful events to help the poor and needy, inspire the next generation and make a positive impact to our deteriorating environment.

No matter what type of person you are, you are most welcomed to join the Deloitte family – the place where young professionals collaborate and work together towards success!
