Assessment Process

After submitting the application form, shortlisted candidates will be invited to our assessment center for a four-stage assessment process.


Step 1. Ability Test

An online ability test to assess verbal and numerical reasoning


Step 2. Group Assessment

Each group will have 6 to 8 candidates. The group assessment takes multiple formats such as group discussion and presentation to assess students' communication ability.

A typical group discussion session includes individual reading preparation, group discussion in native language and a final group presentation in which each candidate should take a speaking part.

How to perform well in a group assessment:

  • Read fast but make sure you understand the situation and form your ideas;
  • Contribute your ideas to the team so as to support team performance;
  • Leverage other people's ideas in the discussion;
  • Be presentable and in good gestures;
  • Demonstrate sincerity, self-confidence and a positive attitude.


Step 3. Chatting with Partners

A group of around 6 candidates will be given a specific topic for discussion in Cantonese/English/Mandarin. Candidates can share their opinions freely. A partner will observe and may ask questions during the discussion to test their communication and analytical skills.


Step 4. Endorsement Meeting

Shortlisted candidates are required to arrange a meeting with their prospective mentors on their own. The format can be a lunch appointment or formal meeting and is up to the designated mentor. This is to further explore the candidate's passion towards the professional services industry and motivation of being affiliated with the Deloitte Club.

Candidates having passed this stage will become our Deloitte Club member!
