In Deloitte we all share a desire to give something back to society. Our volunteering and giving programmes provide opportunities to get involved in doing just that. Staff surveys allow us to focus our efforts on those areas deemed to be the most deserving of support.
Volunteering
IMPACT Day is a Deloitte worldwide initiative where partners and staff volunteer to devote one working day to a project that has a direct and positive impact on society. Projects include painting and decorating, gardening and organising day trips for a variety of charitable organisations. We support a number of individuals in their volunteering efforts such as with the “Niall Mellon Township Trust” building houses in South Africa, “UCD Volunteers Overseas” running sports camps in Haiti and “To Russia with Love” taking care of orphans.

Deloitte is delighted to match the funds donated in a firm-wide appeal on behalf of the “Society of St Vincent de Paul” at Christmas. The Deloitte Endowment Fund provides seven access scholarships annually at DCU. We also support Gaisce – the President’s Award, Junior Achievement Ireland, the Irish Centre for Talented Youth as well as numerous prizes for academic excellence at third level. We are corporate members of the National Concert Hall and the Cork Opera House. We support business partnering with the arts through the Business2Arts initiative.
The Environment
Deloitte’s Green Agenda initiative is a key component of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme. Our goal is to promote sustainability and to reduce the impact of our operations on the environment. Through our “Think Green” and “SwITch Off” initiatives we are actively engaged in monitoring our impact on the environment and creating awareness amongst our people. Significant savings have been achieved through changes in work practices resulting in our carbon neutral designation. Our modern offices employ the most up-to-date energy and waste management practices. We continue to invest in high end IT, communications and printing technologies with a view to making savings in power, cooling, travel and consumption.
