“When I first came to Deloitte, I wasn’t sure if it was the right place for me but I changed my mind after spending two months here. Five years on, I still feel the same way – that Deloitte is indeed the right workplace for me. My team is like family to me. Throughout my tenure here over the past years, I have been promoted twice; first from Tax Assistant to Tax Senior, and then Assistant Tax Manager. I am currently acting as Tax Manager. I would proudly say that my positive career advancement stemmed from my hard work and strong determination, together with the opportunities that the partners and the firm presented to me with much trust and confidence. Also, I am proud to be part of the team as we have been through good and bad times together.

Among my most valuable client experiences would be the various forms of appreciation and praises I have obtained commending my work. I enjoy working in Deloitte as the firm practices openness and teamwork within the working culture. Within the Deloitte environment, there is no “I”, only “we”. Even the partners are always willing to listen, discuss, and guide us through any matter we need their thoughts or opinions on. In my career progression with Deloitte, I have learned a lot, and picked up management skills as we are required to manage our own work, timelines, impending due dates, prioritisation, and client’s expectations, etc. As Deloitte presents many opportunities for employees to grow, I hope to see myself gaining more experience and exposure in other countries’ practices.”
