Transaction services

As part of our Transaction Services team, you will deal with a wide range of engagements, such as acquisitions, disposals and IPOs across all industry sectors and geographies. Working with clients and management teams, you will assess the financial potential of deals and deliver clear, actionable strategic recommendations.

What makes us so special?

The breadth of our skills is just the starting point. We combine these skills to develop well-rounded solutions based on a full understanding of businesses and the environment in which they compete. This integrated approach gives our clients a clear commercial advantage and allows us to build long standing client relationships.

The department is organised into industry sectors which mirror the rest of the firm including Consumer Business, EIU, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Healthcare, THL and TMT as well as having a group specifically focused on Private Equity Transaction Services. As a new graduate you can expect to work across all areas before building a specialism later in your career.

Private Equity Transaction Services, or PETS, offers a range of products to Private Equity Houses to help them execute better acquisitions and disposals. We are consistently regarded as the market leader on deals over €150 million and were awarded the “Professional Services Firm of the Year” at the BVCA Private Equity Awards in 2008.

What are the benefits to you?

Transaction Services offers early responsibility as part of a project team. You will manage sections of projects and directly engage with clients across a wide range of financial issues and will initially gain exposure to all industry sectors including Private Equity, with opportunities to specialise later in your career. As a result, the possibilities for learning and progression are almost endless.

What you'll be doing

You can expect to work on a variety of transactions. You will find yourself as part of a project team from very early on in your career, helping to provide financial due diligence and investigative analysis to assist clients with their potential transactions.

Initially this will involve detailed financial analysis and discussing your findings with Management. As you progress in the role you will start communicating your findings in a wide range of professional scenarios including client team and banking presentations as well as written reports.

Your will complete formal accountancy training through the ACA, and will build on this with specially tailored internal training courses and on the job ‘hands on’ experience designed to develop rounded finance professionals capable of rapid career progression.

Who we're looking for

To meet the growing demands of our high-profile client base, we are currently looking for a number of graduates with exceptional analytical skills. We’re particularly interested in hearing from those of you fluent in a second language.

What will you need?

A strong academic background with a predicted or obtained 2:1 or higher in any discipline, together with a minimum of 320 UCAS points. You will also need to demonstrate outstanding analytical skills, structured thinking, commercial acumen, the ability to work in a team and a proactive attitude. Although not essential, the growing international focus of our team could give you the opportunity of using your second language, if you have one.

Hear from our people...
