Real world, hands-on experience coupled with first-class training and development. Our BrightStart scheme is a great way to launch a successful career in business – straight from your A Levels. During your time on the scheme, you’ll also develop a powerful mix of business, finance and general professional skills. All of which will stand you in good stead as your career with Deloitte unfolds.
We run three to six week schemes across most of our service lines for students who are in the penultimate year of their studies. Through project work, training, meetings and shadowing of senior colleagues, you’ll be able to explore what we do in detail.
Whichever area you join within Deloitte Real Estate, the scheme is designed to take the most insightful, intelligent and interesting graduates and develops them into professionals who will lead the industry. Generally speaking, you will experience a combination of challenging client work, exceptional training and study towards your Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

Once you’ve researched who we are and what we do, complete our online application form. It has a number of sections covering your education, career motivation and work experience. Once you’ve submitted it, we’ll screen it and get back to you within three working days. If you’re successful, we’ll invite you along to the next stage.
Online numerical test
You’ll be given plenty of opportunity to practise for this 30-minute test. Whether it’s presented in words or tables, it’ll check your ability to quickly analyse numerical or financial data and come to conclusions.
Online critical thinking test
The critical thinking test is designed to measure your abilities and skills. It will tell us if you can look at a situation from multiple perspectives and separate facts from opinions and assumptions. Some questions are straightforward, others more complex. This is so we can test your critical thinking ability as a whole.
We’ll be looking to measure inference, recognition of assumptions – identifying unstated assumptions underlying given statements, deduction, interpretation and evaluation of arguments. There are 40 items in total, and you’ll have a time limit of 30 minutes.
If you’re successful with the online section, we’ll invite you for an interview with a trained interviewer from your chosen service line. This will take place in the office you’ve applied to and will last about an hour. It’s designed to help us test your suitability through the questions we ask you and a case study and to allow you to learn more about our firm and culture.
Pass the first interview, and this one combines a presentation and a further interview assessing your values and motivations with a senior member of staff from the area you’re applying to join. You’ll also be invited to join us for lunch to learn a bit more about the firm.
