Making the Maximum Impact
It’s your spring break. You’ve got just one week without classes, tests, or study groups. One week to spend however you choose. Will you sit on your sofa, laptop in hand? Bask on the beach with thousands of other college students? Or maybe you’d like to spend your break helping young students growing up in low-income areas, students whose educational opportunities are limited simply because of where they live. You will learn more about how you can have a fundamental impact on their lives and lead them, perhaps, to sit in your place one day to decide how they'll spend their own college spring break. How far will you take it?
Deloitte and Teach For America invite you to join Maximum Impact: Alternative Spring Break, a four-day, expenses-paid trip to Memphis, Tennessee with professionals from both organizations. You’ll work with schools and students who face the challenges of educational inequity. Educational inequity is the principle that affirms that where a child is born determines his or her educational outcomes and life prospects.
While you are working with these students and schools, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and network with professionals from Deloitte and Teach For America who can offer an inside look into life in professional services or as a Teach For America corps member. You can also learn more about Deloitte’s collaboration with Teach For America, which provides employment deferrals and full-time career opportunities for qualified applicants who commit to two years of full-time, paid opportunities with Teach For America. And, after a day spent working together, there will be plenty of opportunity for fun — including dinners, social outings, and other team-building activities.
Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just ready to make the most of your spring break, we hope you’ll consider Deloitte’s Alternative Spring Break an inspiring, engaging and useful way to spend your week.
